Where psychology meets the working world.

ABOUT KELLY KIM

My background sits at a rare intersection:

Expertise in psychology, 13+ years inside global organizations, and lived experience as an international professional in the Netherlands. I understand the professional context my clients are navigating — not just the emotional one.

MY BACKGROUND

Both sides of the desk.

Most workplace mental health specialists have never managed a restructuring across seven time zones. Most psychologists have never spent a decade inside the organizations their clients are struggling with. I have done both, and that is what makes my work different.

I spent 13+ years as a regional HR across seven countries, working with global companies. That career gave me a close understanding of what international work actually demands of people: the pressure, the cultural adjustment, and the quiet erosion of identity that can occur when high-functioning professionals reach a point where they can no longer cope.

That dual background shapes everything about how I work. Most psychologists understand emotions, thought patterns, and behavior. Fewer understand what it means to perform under sustained professional pressure — to navigate a demanding work, to try to recover from burnout while still meeting obligations you can't simply pause.

"I don't just know about work-related stress from the literature. I know what it actually looks like inside organizations — and what it feels like to navigate it as an employee."

Evidence-based, practical, and genuinely personal.

HOW I WORK

My approach draws on CBT principles and mindfulness-based methods.

Sessions are practical and goal-oriented, focused on building concrete tools rather than discussion alone.

CBT is one of the most extensively evidence-based frameworks for supporting anxiety, burnout, and mood-related challenges. It focuses on identifying and reshaping unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns to build more effective responses.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Mindfulness builds a more grounded relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings, reduces reactivity, and supports emotional regulation — particularly useful for people whose lives demand high performance with little room for internal processing.

Mindfulness-based

I adapt to what each client actually needs. A session preparing for a bedrijfsarts appointment looks very different from one addressing relocation stress — and both require a different kind of attention. The professional and cultural context is always part of the work.

Integrative and context-sensitive

  • I will tell you if this isn't the right support for your situation.

  • Every session should produce something usable.

  • My role is to help you navigate your situation, not define it.

  • The goal is for you to need me less, not more.

  • Session content stays in sessions, except where explicitly agreed otherwise.
